Zilker Studios Wins 2025 Austin Business Journal’s Community Impact Award
We’re honored to share that Zilker Studios has been awarded the 2025 Community Impact Award by the Austin Business Journal. Designed in collaboration with Foundation Communities, this deeply sustainable, 110-unit supportive housing development stands as a model for how thoughtful design can strengthen both residents’ lives and the surrounding community.
Built around two heritage live oaks, Zilker Studios features a central breezeway punctuated by a hole in the building’s concrete podium, inviting natural light throughout the building and creating a peaceful gathering place for residents. The project is net zero ready, developed using custom PHIUS protocols, and is pursuing a 5-star AEGB rating—all on just half an acre. This award underscores what’s possible when affordable housing and architectural excellence go hand in hand.
