Mckalla Station
Austin, TX
In conjunction with Land Design Studio, Mckalla Station is a counter proposal to the Precourt MLS stadium in north Austin. This 4,500,000 SF live-work-learn community is an example of the idilic possibility of urban density, where residents and visitors alike can enjoy the experience of Austin in a compact, energetic environment. Sporting the necessities of urban life, Mckalla Station hosts intimate dining venues, cultural museums and education facilities, grocery markets, and emergency response station to support the 1.5 million SF of office space and 1,500 dwelling units, including 250 affordable housing units. Mckalla’s density and support allow it to function as a city within a city, and the inclusion of a rail station in the north west corner of the site gives it driverless access to the rest of Austin.
